1. Cooling fluid

Cooling liquid, also known as antifreeze in winter, is a liquid composed of antifreeze additives, additives to prevent metal corrosion, and water. 2. Thermostat

3. Water pump

4. Radiator

When a diesel generator is operating, the coolant flows inside the radiator core, and air passes outside the radiator core. The hot coolant cools down due to the heat dissipated from the air. There is also an important small component on the radiator, which is the radiator cover, which is easily overlooked. As the temperature changes, the coolant will expand and contract. The internal pressure of the radiator increases due to the expansion of the coolant. 6. Water temperature sensor

7. Thermostat

When the coolant temperature drops below the specified value, the paraffin in the temperature sensing body of the thermostat becomes solid. Under the action of the spring, the thermostat valve closes the channel between the engine and the radiator, entering a small cycle. When the temperature of the coolant reaches the specified value, paraffin begins to melt and gradually turns into a liquid. The volume increases and compresses the rubber tube, causing it to contract. While the rubber tube contracts, it exerts an upward thrust on the push rod. Due to the fixed upper end of the push rod, it exerts a downward thrust on the rubber tube and temperature sensor, causing the valve to open. At this time, the coolant passes through the radiator and thermostat valve, and then flows back to the engine through the water pump for a large circulation.

8. Radiator cover

The function of the radiator cap is to seal the water cooling system and regulate the working pressure of the system. When the engine is working, the temperature of the coolant gradually increases. Due to the expansion of the coolant volume, the pressure inside the cooling system increases. When the pressure exceeds the predetermined value, the pressure valve opens, and a portion of the coolant flows into the compensating water bucket through the overflow pipe to prevent the coolant from expanding and cracking the radiator. After the engine is shut down, the temperature of the coolant decreases, and the pressure in the cooling system also decreases. When the pressure drops below atmospheric pressure and a vacuum occurs, the vacuum valve opens, partially compensating for the coolant in the bucket flowing back to the radiator, which can prevent the radiator from being damaged by atmospheric pressure.
