How to quickly deal with diesel generators that are drenched in rain? Some outdoor users are affected by weather conditions, especially when encountering rainy weather where the unit gets wet and not maintained in a timely manner, resulting in rust, corrosion, and even malfunctions of diesel generators. When a diesel generator is caught in rain, it can still be rescued if corresponding solutions are made in a timely manner. So, what should be done if the diesel generator is flooded? 1. Rinse the exterior of the diesel generator with water to remove soil and debris, then use metal cleaning agents or laundry detergent to remove surface oil stains.

2. Support one end of the diesel generator so that the oil drain part of the oil pan is in a low position. Rotate the oil drain plug, pull out the oil dipstick, and let the water in the oil pan flow out. When the oil is about to be drained, slightly let the oil and water drain together before turning on the oil drain plug.

3. Remove the air filter element, remove the upper shell of the filter, take out the filter and other components, remove the water inside the filter, and clean all parts with metal cleaner or diesel. If the filter is made of plastic foam, it should be washed with detergent or soapy water (diesel oil is not allowed), washed with clean water, dried in the air, and then dipped with a proper amount of engine oil (squeeze dry with hands after soaking). When installing a new filter, oil immersion should also be performed. The filter element is made of paper and needs to be replaced with a new one. After cleaning and drying all parts of the filter, assemble them according to regulations.

4. Remove the intake and exhaust pipes, as well as the muffler, to remove any internal water accumulation. If the diesel generator has a long time of water ingress and it is difficult to rotate the flywheel, it indicates that the cylinder liner and piston rings have rusted. They should be removed for rust removal, cleaned thoroughly before assembly, and those with severe rust should be replaced in a timely manner.

5. Remove the fuel tank and drain all the oil and water inside. Check if there is water in the diesel filter and oil pipe. If there is water, it should be drained. Clean the fuel tank and diesel filter, and then reinstall them in their original locations.

6. Drain the sewage from the water tank and waterway, clean the waterway, and add clean river water or boiled well water until the water float rises. Turn on the oil switch and start the diesel generator. After starting the diesel generator, pay attention to the operation data of the unit and listen for any abnormal noise from the diesel generator. After checking whether all parts are normal, run in the diesel generator.
